Lance Wiebe Receives Certified Executor Advisor (CEA) Designation
The Government of Ontario has made changes to the Estate Administration Tax Act, leaving executors (estate trustees) in a more perilous position. Certified Executor Advisors (CEAs) are accredited specialists advising Canadian executors about the potential pitfalls in settling an estate. Lance Wiebe is one of 300 Canadian CEAs available to help guide executors.
Lance Wiebe (CFP, BSc., CEA) is a Certified Financial Planner with Desjardins Financial Security Independent Network and Desjardins Financial Security Investments Inc. "My role is to listen and to fully understand my client's situation so I can provide them with the best advice." says Wiebe. Seeing increasing numbers of clients being asked to be the executor for aging parents and other relatives, Wiebe took the CEA certification course in 2014, completed his exam at the beginning of this year and received his CEA designation in February of 2015.
A CEA is accredited by the Canadian Institute of Certified Executor Advisors (CICEA). According to their website:
